Geometric Metaphysical Properties of Quartz Crystals

To determine the type of one metaphysical crystal from another. We are not talking about the body of the crystal. We are looking at the number of edges on the main face of the crystal. A quartz crystal has 6 sides on its body and then it has 6 faces coming together at the tip.The main face of the tip is what we are speaking of.

The main face of the crystal is usually the biggest face and is considered the front of the crystal.

Channeling crystal- a channeling crystal has 7 edges on its main face, and then directly behind the main face which would be the back face of the crystal, it has a perfect 3 sided triangle. I have outlined the edges so you can see them .

Double terminated Crystal_ a double terminated crystal is a crystal that has formed a point on each end. If the crystal is attached at its side to the matrix or host rock, this will allow the crystal to form a point also called a termination at each end. Some times you will find them as just a single crystal that has broke away from its host rock or cluster as is the photo on left. Usually you can tell where the crystal use to be attached by an indention somewhere on its side. but sometimes you will find one that is so perfect and flawless that it looks as though it has never been attached. On the right is a Double terminated still attached.

Dow Crystal- A dow crystal is considered to be the Perfect geometric balanced crystal.Its 6 faces have perfect geometry.The 6 faces comprising the termination alternate between triangels and 7 sided faces.Thus you get 737373.I dug this crystal along time ago.It is a beauty.

Window Crystal- A window crystal has a diamond shaped window between 2 of the main faces of the crystal. The top edge of the diamond aligns with one of the face lines leading to the tip. The 2 side edges of the diamond will align with the 2 edges of faces on each side of it. The bottom edge of window will align with a line leading to the base of the crystal

Isis Crystal- When we talk about an Isis crystal, we are talking about the front face of the crystal. The isis crystal has 5 sides to the face. There is a base line edge, then there will be 2 short edges or sides that rise at a slight outward angle, then there will be 2 long edges or lines rising slightly inward and up to form a sharp point. The photo below on right shows the base line very well, I have the crystal turned slightly at an angle

Time line Crystal to the past also called a time link crystal to the past. A time line is very similar to a window crystal but, the time line has a parallelogram next to the main face of the crystal. If the parrallelogram is on the left side of the face then the crystal is considered a time link crystal to the past.
